Plasma cutting with XFLARE
Plasma technology allows processing a variety of materials with high cutting speeds. Air plasma power sources offer lower operating costs compared to lasers. Both individual pieces and larger production quantities can be realized easily and cost-effectively.
1. Plasma generation
An electric arc is generated between an electrode and the workpiece to be cut. Simultaneously, a gas (usually air, oxygen, nitrogen, or argon) is forced through a nozzle at high speed and ionized. This creates a high-temperature plasma jet.
2. Cutting process
The hot plasma melts the metal at the cutting point. The ionized gas blows the molten material out of the kerf, creating a clean and precise cutting edge.
3. Control & guidance
The XFLARE moves the plasma jet along the workpiece contour at optimal feed rate. At the same time, process parameters and distance are regulated to achieve the best cutting results.

Technology & equipment
The CNC-controlled plasma cutting system XFLARE is equipped with a variety of intelligent functions to ensure the most efficient and rapid operation possible. Thanks to these innovative technologies, even cylindrical holes and slots can be produced precisely without additional drilling.
Process control in real-time
The fully automatic process control continuously monitors the operation and reacts immediately to changes. This ensures precise and reproducible process control.
Pre-selectable cutting parameters
Adjustable parameters for various materials and sheet thicknesses enable efficient and high-quality processing from the start.
Pre-calibrated tools (TCP)
The tools are already fully measured and calibrated, making them ready for immediate use.
Automatic height control
The integrated torch height control via arc voltage maintains a constant distance between nozzle and workpiece, ensuring consistent cuts and extended nozzle life.
Active angle correction
The angle correction compensates for angle errors of the plasma arc through targeted positioning of the torch. This results in straight cuts and cylindrical holes.
Nozzle wear tracking
Advanced nozzle wear tracking allows operators to respond to wear in a timely manner.
Tool-free nozzle change
We enable tool-free and quick nozzle changes. This reduces your time and minimizes downtime.
Cutting & marking without modification
In addition to cutting, the plasma power source can also mark using the same cutting nozzle, without any modification or change of process gas.
Probing via cap or laser
The cutting head features an integrated probing system that detects components using ohmic contact sensing on the torch shield. For non-conductive surfaces such as foil or enamel, height finding via a laser distance sensor is optionally available.
Plain-text error messages
Plain-text error messages are displayed via the graphical user interface to enable precise monitoring and diagnosis during the cutting process.
Sectional extraction
The sectional under-floor extraction automatically adjusts the airflow to the position of the plasma torch, capturing a large portion of the welding fumes at the source.
Extendable drawers
Extendable drawers offer easy emptying of accumulated slag and scrap, as well as quick retrieval of fallen good parts, especially in prototype production.
